A messages system allow job seeker and insider could start a good communication each others. Redesign messages system would help us deal with the problem we meet after first release.

Problem

The original version defines the solution from using traditional E-mail method so as to better protect the users’ privacy. However, this kind of communication method is too limited due to its unclear case status information and not timely enough in our current platform.

“How might we create a new feature that enables the users to easily and timely communicate with each other and easily get the case status information under the premise of protected privacy?”

Insight

1. As a platform for user to establish connections and communication, every connection is crucial. As for users, fast communication plays the essential role.


2. The recognition of the person who communicates with the users needs to switch pages. With more and more contacts, coupled with privacy protection mechanisms, it is difficult to immediately identify contacts.


3. The advantage of email method lies in that it could mark important contact person information for users, which helps them to quickly identify the contact person that they want to connect with the next step.

Solution

Based on research, I finally decided to convert email to instant messaging in order to achieved the purpose of timely communication. In addition, it could be viewed their case status directly from the message page in order to quickly get the information for contacts.

Final Design

1. Convert email to instant messaging in order to facilitate the users’ timely communication.


2. Added a feature that can timely view the case status, and thus the users can view the current case status while making communications


3. Mark it as unread in order to continue the function of the quick mark of E-mail
